By far the most renowned of the Pecorino cheeses, most widely used in many southern Italian dishes. Pecorino is made from sheep's milk and is traditionally produced in the warm Lazio countryside near Rome. Pecorino is made from November to June under strict monitoring and is most commonly found with a black or white inedible skin. Pecorino is typically aged for about eight months in Italy, but we at Grandvewe Cheeses age it a few months longer so your final product is sharper and more flavorful!

How should I use this cheese?

Hand grated over pasta or risotto, it is a must with many Italian regional dishes. Pairs well with all vegetables and all types of pasta sauces.

This has to be one of the finest Pecorino Cheeses that I have tasted. I would highly recommend it, it such a treat for the senses.It is great with pasta, but I also found it to be great drizzled with a little honey and accompanied by some salted cashews.
